About Me

My journey with mental illness started when I was a child; a childhood of trauma and a lack of structure and stability led me to spend the next 20 years of my life running from myself.

Although I started therapy 11 years ago, I’ve only been actively involved and committed to my healing journey and recovery for about the past 5 years. During the past 5 years, I’ve committed myself to attending psychotherapy 3x a week, reading every book and study I could get my hands on that could help me along the way, and found a passion in sharing all my newfound knowledge and information with others who could find use with it too.

As luck would have it, 5 years ago I found a psychiatrist and therapist who I connected with on a deep level. Throughout our work together, I slowly began to develop a trust with him that changed my life. Finding a therapist that you can grow with can be difficult but for me it was 100% worth the effort. Although my demons didn’t magically go away, I suddenly found myself with hope and a person that offered support and structure that I could learn to build a foundation with. I wish I could say it became easier, but it didn’t, it became harder. The right therapist for you will be someone who pushes you to stop running and become aware of everything you’ve been running from, they push you to believe in yourself as much as they believe in you, and they help remind you that life is worth living.

In 5 years, I’ve grown and changed a lot, but my passion for sharing the knowledge I’ve gained has grown more than any other part of me. Hopefully you will find the knowledge beneficial for your situation and helpful for you when navigating the confusing times that can come when managing invisible illness or disability.

This journey can be a painful one, but it can also be a beautiful one, if you remain open to the possibilities and hope in reaching the other side.
